Omar Aaziz
Biography
Omar Aaziz received a B.S. in Computer Science from
Al-Rafidain University from Iraq in 2000, and an M.S. in
Computer Science from Baghdad University in 2003 and he is
currently a Ph.D. student at New Mexico State University.
He worked at Baghdad University in Baghdad-Iraq,
eventually as an instructor from 2003 to 2009. His
research interests are in High-Performance Computing
(HPC), specifically in dynamic analysis and runtime
monitoring. In the HPC arena, he developed a module to
predict application runtime using hardware counters in
large scale production clusters during his summer
internship at Sandia National Laboratories. His current
projects are funded by Sandia National Laboratories to
study the increase of the overall utility of expensive HPC
resources in scientific application, and analyze the
behavior patterns of parallel scientific applications
using statistical and numerical techniques.
