David Appelhans
Biography
David Appelhans graduated Suma Cum Laude with a B.S. ('08)
and a M.S. ('09) in Physics from the Colorado School of
Mines. He also received a Ph.D. ('14) in Applied
Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder,
where he was awarded the National Science Foundation
Graduate Fellowship. He is a published expert in GPU
programming, mathematical algorithms, and high performance
computing applications. His interests include highly
parallel and concurrent algorithms, iterative numerical
methods, and large memory simulations. He is a Research
Staff Member in the Data Centric Solutions department at
IBM, where he has been readying high performance computing
applications for the SIERRA and SUMMIT top supercomputers.
