Marta Mattoso
Biography
Professor of the Department of Computer Science at the
COPPE Institute from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
(UFRJ) since 1994, where she leads the Distributed
Database Research Group. She has received the D.Sc degree
from UFRJ. Dr. Mattoso research interests include
distributed and parallel data analysis, data management
aspects of scientific workflows and provenance. She is the
principal investigator in research projects in those
areas, with funding from several agencies, including CNPq,
CAPES, FAPERJ, FINEP and INRIA. She has supervised 20
doctoral theses and 60 master theses. Her current projects
include the development and implementation of distributed
data solutions to support human-in-the-loop online
analyses and adaptations during many task computing in
parallel for multicore architectures including cloud
environments. High performance Oil & Gas and
Bioinformatics experiments have been used to evaluate
these solutions. She is a CNPq research fellow (Level 1B).
She is a member of ACM, IEEE and the Brazilian Computer
Society. She serves regularly in program committees of
international conferences, and is a regular reviewer of
several indexed international journals. She served as the
Senior PC Chair of the Provenance Week 2016.
