Motoki Nakata
Biography
Motoki Nakata is an assistant professor at the Fusion
Theory and Simulation Research Division in National
Institute for Fusion Science(NIFS). He received his Ph.D.
degree in 2011 from the Graduate University for Advanced
Studies. His research subject is the first-principle based
5D gyrokinetic simulations of turbulence and transport in
tokamak and stellarator plasmas. He has also developed a
kinetic approach for the nonlinear interactions among
turbulent vortices and zonal flows, and they are widely
applied to various problems in plasma turbulence research.
He is also extending the simulation model and optimization
technique for the next-generation high performance
computers.
