Biography
Mark received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
University of California at Davis in 2001. After graduate
school he joined the faculty at the University of
Washington (UW) in the Computer Science and Engineering
(CSE) department. Currently he is a tenured Associate
Professor in UW/CSE and has co-authored over 60
peer-reviewed articles on hardware design, quantum
computing, and software systems. In the intervening
fifteen years he co-founded and was the CTO of Corensic, a
company dedicated to creating multiprocessor developer
tools; and a consultant for both Microsoft and Advanced
Micro Devices (AMD). Presently his research is focused on
ultra low-power machine learning architectures and
hardware/software for large-scale video content search.
