DescriptionPushing the frontiers of science and technology will
require extreme-scale computing with machines that are
500-to-1,000 times more capable than today’s
supercomputers. We will discuss the new era of
data-centric computing which enables data processing
everywhere; including the network. The next generation
of intelligent interconnect devices, such as Mellanox/s
Quantum™ HDR 200gbps InfiniBand Switching with SHARP
(Scalable Hierarchical Aggregation and Reduction
Protocol) and ConnectX-6 200Gb/s VPI Host Channel
Adapters enable in-network co-processing, enabling
communication framework processing and user algorithm
processing on the interconnect fabric increases system
performance by an order of magnitude or more. We will
explore the benefits of the next generation capabilities
of these smart-interconnect devices, off-load
architecture and in-network co-processing as we prepare
to move toward the next milestones at and beyond
exascale computing.
